Summary
Coronary artery disease (CAD) is plaque buildup in the arteries that supply your heart. Symptoms range from no symptoms at all to chest pain with exertion (angina) to a heart attack. Treatment combines medications, lifestyle changes, and sometimes procedures like stents or bypass surgery.
When to call us
- •Chest pain or pressure, especially with exertion or stress
- •New shortness of breath with usual activities
- •Pain in the jaw, neck, arm, or back without clear cause
- •Chest pain at rest or not relieved with rest (call 911)
